Maltese pianist Rachel Gauci holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the esteemed Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she studied with Fali Pavri (Head of Keyboard Department), Sinae Lee and Sasa Donaldson. Prior to her studies in Scotland, Rachel pursued a dual path in both sciences and music, earning a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Malta while studying piano with Gisèle Grima. She later moved to France where she furthered her studies at the Conservatoire in Avignon with Véronique Muzy and Andrea Corazziari, and was awarded the Diplôme d'études musicales.
Rachel has performed in various concert series and festivals in Malta, France, Austria, and the UK. In April 2024,  she made her solo recital debut at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta as part of the 18th edition of the Malta Spring Festival. Rachel premiered an ensemble work by Olivier Calmel for a silent film in Avignon, France. As a collaborative pianist, she has worked alongside renowned vocal coaches including Malcolm Martineau, Pascal le Corre, and Lydia Brown.  Rachel has been invited to perform in various masterclasses with distinguished artsists such as Petras Geniušas, Yuri Didenko, Kenneth Hamilton, Aaron Shorr, Roy Howat and Mikhail Petukhov. She was also invited to perform in a masterclass with composer Thierry Escaich, presenting one of his compositions.  She has also been awarded several competitive scholarships from Arts Council Malta enabling her to attend a series of international masterclasses in South-West France namely ‘Music at Albignac’ (2018) and ‘Music at Château d’Aix’ (2019, 2022) where she worked closely with Paul Roberts and Charles Owen. Additionally, she was selected to attend a two-week residency at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, receiving a full scholarship.
Rachel is the recipient of a number scholarships which have supported her studies abroad, namely from Malta Arts Scholarships and Janatha Stubbs Foundation. She is also a BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation Scholar.
